To further empower and uplift women business owners in southeastern North Carolina, the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to introduce the Women Business Owners Council. The vision of this council is to foster an inclusive community that empowers, educates, and propels women entrepreneurs forward. Our goal is to create programs that offer valuable learning opportunities and encourage the exchange of expertise among women business owners. By addressing the unique challenges faced by women in business, we aim to advance female entrepreneurs and stimulate economic growth.
 
During our meeting on November 13, we will hear a presentation on Prioritizing Growth Strategies and Creating an Action Planfrom council member and owner of Farrell Insights.
 
Ramona is an independent forensic accounting consultant and business advisor and the founder/owner of Farrell Insights LLC, a company that brings calm and clarity to chaos and provides avenues for closure. She holds a master’s degree of business administration (MBA) and is a certified family business advisor (CFBA), certified fraud examiner (CFE) and certified financial crimes investigator (CFCI). With more than 20 years of diversified business consulting and forensic accounting experience, Ramona specializes in partner/shareholder disputes and fraud related financial investigations and consults with family-owned and other privately-owned businesses on growth strategies and other ownership/management issues. In addition, Ramona is an Adjunct Faculty member, previously with California State University-Sacramento and with Furman University in Greenville, SC, where she taught Business Communications and Ethics courses. She also speaks professionally for associations and organizations on several topics including Professional Development, Behavioral Ethics, and Fraud Awareness and Detection.
 
Membership in this council is exclusively open to women business owners who are current members of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. Invitations will be extended upon completion of the interest questionnaire. There is no additional cost to participate.
