Event Description:
The next Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, from 8:30 – 9:45 am at the chamber office downtown.
The purpose of this committee is to monitor legislative and regulatory matters at the local, state, and federal levels and advocate for the business interests of our diverse membership.
For the May meeting, we are delighted to welcome Wilmington International Airport Director Jeffrey Bourk, A.A.E, as our guest speaker. Attendees can expect to learn more about ongoing projects underway and future initiatives at the Wilmington International Airport.
Mr. Bourk became Executive Director of the Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in January 2022 based on his impressive track record in airport business and operations management. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Bourk has successfully developed business initiatives and brought new fixed-base operators and airlines to airports. He has also shown great team-building skills, fostering a caring and motivated culture and working with economic development partners.
Before his appointment at ILM, Bourk served as the Executive Director of Branson Airport in Missouri for 14 years, where he successfully built the airport from the ground up, attracting low-cost carriers and creating millions of dollars of economic benefit to the Branson Tri-Lakes region. He also held roles in airport management at Portland International Jetport and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey at Teterboro Airport. Bourk is an Accredited Airport Executive and has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Aviation Management from Daniel Webster College. He received his Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
The meeting will occur at the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, 1 Estell Lee Place, Wilmington, NC 28401. To enter, please go through the gate on the left side of the building facing the Cape Fear River. Guests may park in our parking lot or at the Wilmington Convention Center parking deck.
We understand that some guests may be unable to join us in person, so we are offering a virtual option for attendance at no cost to members of the Wilmington Chamber. These meetings are not open to nonmembers.
