CFPUA’s Kings Bluff Pump Station on the Cape Fear River
Event Description:

This event is only open to current Leadership Wilmington Alumni Council members or graduates of the Leadership Wilmington program.

Ever wondered where local utilities source our drinking water? Join Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) at the Kings Bluff Pump Station on the Cape Fear River to celebrate Source Water Protection Week.

Located near Lock & Dam 1 in Riegelwood, N.C., Kings Bluff is the site where utilities in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties source most of our region’s drinking water. Tour CFPUA’s pump station, and learn how local utilities protect our water from GenX and other PFAS, agricultural runoff, and other contaminants to ensure our region’s homes and business get safe, clean drinking water.

Alumni will meet at the chamber and carpool to the site for some extra networking time. Please register and in the notes comment, let us know if you are able to drive and if so, how many passengers.

Excited to see you there!
